Photo Shoot #1: Compositional Guidelines
What is composition?
Composition is the selection and arrangement/placement of subject matter in your photography. Simply put… it is the 'what you decide to include' and the 'where you decide to put it' of each photograph.
What to shoot:
Fill the frame | Get in Close | Simplicity
Leading Lines
Framing
Rule of thirds
*Try to take 5-10 photographs in each category. This will give you 12-40 shots to choose from. (Ultimately however, it is your preference and decision on how you distribute your final shots and turn in.) You MUST demonstrate understanding of the 4 compositional guidelines listed above in your gallery. Have fun! Get creative! Explore your world. Always try to see your world in a new and interesting way. How can you make your photos stand out from the rest of the class?
