Understanding Light Light: Understanding how to use light to benefit your photography can be thought of as another tool for your photography tool box. Photography literally means "writing with light". Without light, there is no photograph.
SHOOTING ASSIGNMENT: Submit images from at least 3 techniques below: 1)Side-lighting from windows or other light sources (lamps, flashlights, etc...) 2)Back-lighting by pointing your camera into the light; subject in front of light source 3)Bokeh using a wide aperture setting such as f1.4, f2, f2.8, f4 or macro mode. Zoom in for best results and use the manual focus ring. 4) Creative shadow play or other interesting use of light not already mentioned.
